YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND
TO SHARE IN THE MISSION OF JESUS
The Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office for Religious, an agency within the Department of Human Services, coordinates personnel and programs to foster an awareness of, education of, and promotion of vocations to religious life. The Office for Religious works closely with the Archdiocesan Vocations Office personnel and the Chicago Archdiocesan Vocation Association (CAVA) to support the Church in its responsibility for fostering these particular vocations.
SERVICES
The Office for Religious, along with the above-mentioned groups and other Archdiocesan agencies, provides:
1. Awareness programs of these ministries to students, faculties, parishes and organizations
2. Opportunities/experiences/programs for men and women to discern
their vocation individually and in groups. Information and resources to clergy, pastoral ministers and families in schools, parishes and other ministries to help them implement their role of inviting men and women to consider a Church vocation
3. Initial invitations and individual follow-ups for those exploring a life of ministry in the Church.
The Office for Religious in its vocation efforts follows the Guidelines for Diocesan Vocation Offices from the Bishop's Committee of Vocations and is actively involved in national and regional vocation associations.
