ARCHDIOCESAN CELEBRATION OF RELIGIOUS JUBILEES
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a special Mass at St. Barbara Parish, 2859 South Throop Street in Chicago, honoring women religious and priests and brothers who are members of religious communities.  There are 111 communities of religious women in the Archdiocese and 64 communities of priests and brothers.  This year, 217 women and men religious will celebrate their jubilees that range from 25 years to 80 years.

150TH ANNIVERSARY MASS – ST. JOSEPH WOMEN’S CLUB OF WILMETTE
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass at St. Joseph Parish, 1747 Lake Avenue in Wilmette, in celebration of the 150th anniversary and years of service of the St. Joseph Women’s Club of Wilmette, the oldest continuing Catholic women’s club in the Archdiocese.

100TH ANNIVERSARY MASS – ST. PHILIP NERI
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass with parishioners of St. Philip Neri Parish, 2132 East 72nd Street in Chicago, in celebration of the parish’s 100th anniversary.

CATECHETICAL MINISTRIES AWARDS DINNER
Cardinal George and auxiliary bishops of the Archdiocese will attend the annual Catechetical Awards banquet at Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace, where the Cardinal and Maria Sedano, Director of the Office of Catechesis and Youth Ministry, will present the Archdiocesan Catechetical and Youth Ministries Awards to outstanding catechists and youth ministers.

PERMANENT DIACONATE ORDINATION, HOLY NAME CATHEDRAL
Cardinal George will ordain ninemen at Holy Name Cathedral, State and Superior in Chicago, to serve parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago as permanent deacons.

CHICAGO PILGRIMAGE OF TRUST EVENING PRAYER
This conference takes place on Memorial Day weekend at DePaul University in Chicago, beginning Friday, May 26, with evening prayer and ending on Monday, May 28, with an 11:30 a.m. closing prayer, both at Sullivan Athletic Center.  Young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 from all over the United States and Canada will take part.  They will come together for prayer, biblical reflection, small-group sharing, song and workshops on spirituality, social justice, art and music under the direction of the Brothers of Taizé.  The Taizé community in France is made up of over a hundred brothers, Catholics and from various Protestant backgrounds, from around thirty nations. The community exists to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples.

MASS FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF
BLESSED ARCHBISHOP JURGIS MATULIATIS, MIC
Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass with the Lithuanian community marking the 25th anniversary of the beatification of Archbishop Jurgis Matulaitis, Apostolic Visitor to Lithuania in 1918, who founded five dioceses in Lithuania and who was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1987.  This Mass will be celebrated at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6812 South Washtenaw Avenue in Chicago.

ORDINATION TO PRIESTHOOD AND TO DIACONATE
CANONS REGULAR OF SAINT JOHN CANTIUS

Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass at Saint John Cantius Parish, 825 North Carpenter Street in Chicago, during which he will ordain Scott Thelander a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago for service in the Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius, and Robin Kwan will be ordained a deacon.
