Chicago, IL, (September 27, 2006) - “MISIÓN CHICAGO”, the Spanish language effort of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s “MISSION CHICAGO”, announces six, hour-long missions scheduled for October, November and December at six different parishes in Cook and Lake counties.

Fr. Claudio Diaz, Jr., Director of the Office for Hispanic Catholics, will preside over these missions that will, according to Diaz, “challenge attendees to answer the call of Jesus Christ and to discover the great rewards God has in store for them by tackling questions such as, What does my life need?, What is missing in my life?, as well as What is the power of the Cross?”

The first mission will be held on September 30 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2944 E. 88th St., Chicago. The mission will begin at 11 a.m. with an address by Fr. Esequiel Sanchez, Pastor of Mary, Queen of Heaven Parish in Cicero and former director of the Office for Hispanic Catholics.

Auxiliary Bishops John R. Manz and Gustavo Garcia-Siller, M.Sp.S., and Fr. Rigoberto Gamez Alfonso, Associate Pastor at Providence of God Parish will preside over subsequent missions that are scheduled for:

  • October 10, 7 to 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, 2 W. 38th Pl., Chicago
